Synaptics Launches Veros™ Seamless Intelligent Connectivity with High-Performance Bluetooth

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 16, 2024 — Synaptics® Incorporated today introduced the Veros™ Seamless Intelligent Connectivity brand along with high-performance systems on chip (SoCs) that support Wi-Fi® 6E, Bluetooth®, and 802.15.4. This launch symbolizes Synaptics’ commitment to leadership and innovation while reflecting decades of robust technology and IoT connectivity experience. Veros encompasses Synaptics’ complete wireless portfolio, offering proven solutions known for exceptional performance, interoperability, coexistence, power efficiency, and integrated bill of materials.

The newly launched SoCs, the SYN4383 and SYN43756E, are designed specifically for devices that require top Wi-Fi throughput and range alongside seamless network interoperability. The SYN4383 enhances Synaptics’ award-winning “Triple Combo” series of Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/802.15.4 devices, providing real simultaneous dual-band (RSDB) functionality and advanced system integration. In contrast, the SYN43756E reinforces Synaptics’ popular 2×2 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo SoCs with the introduction of the 6E Wi-Fi band as well as LE Audio support.

With built-in support for Synaptics Astra™, an AI-native compute platform for the IoT, Veros facilitates the development of Edge AI products, resulting in context-aware devices that deliver immersive experiences across consumer, automotive, enterprise, and industrial applications.

“The rollout of Veros signifies a key advancement for Synaptics as we enhance our ‘Sense, Process, Connect’ innovation strategy for high-performance IoT connectivity,” stated a senior vice president at Synaptics. “By integrating our renowned wireless expertise with scalable AI processing, we enable customers to unlock the full potential of both technologies to improve user experience. Our latest wireless SoCs empower customers to swiftly and efficiently fulfill this promise.”

Veros is built upon a technology foundation that has successfully shipped billions of devices. It spans Synaptics’ comprehensive solutions for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DECT/ULE, IEEE 802.15.4 (Zigbee/Thread), GPS/GNSS, and Matter. The SYN4383 and SYN43756E enhance Veros’ capacity to minimize the space, cost, power requirements, complexity, and time-to-market for high-performance IoT devices.

Technical Highlights

The SYN4383 and SYN43756E are specially crafted to meet the strenuous demands of media-rich applications.

The SYN4383 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/802.15.4 triple combo device is the third in its series and includes tri-band 2×2 Wi-Fi capabilities (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz), Bluetooth 5.4 (compatible with 6.0) supporting LE Audio and Channel Sounding, alongside Thread/Zigbee availability. This device is ideal for high-performance multimedia hubs such as TVs, set-top boxes, soundbars, and tablets. The RSDB feature enables the SYN4383 to independently manage Wi-Fi streams across two bands simultaneously.

The SYN43756E serves as a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo device with integrated tri-band 2×2 Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz) and Bluetooth 5.3 (compatible with 6.0), including LE Audio capabilities. With its best-in-class throughput, range, and interoperability, the SYN43756E allows for seamless operation, making it an economical choice for security devices, set-top boxes, speakers, and various smart home applications that do not require RSDB or 802.15.4.
