Free Legal Clinic
Greater Waco Legal Services will hold its monthly free legal clinic from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Waco Family Medicine, located at 1500 Providence Drive. Harmony Blood Drive

Food Preservation Workshop
The Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service of McLennan County and McLennan Community College Continuing Education will hold a Food Preservation Workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on December 7 at the Extension Office, located at 4224 Cobbs Drive. Participants will learn about canning methods and how to prepare high-acid foods including fruits, tomatoes, jams, jellies, and pickled products. The cost for the class is $39. Economic Outlook Luncheon
Waco-based economist Ray Perryman will be the featured speaker at the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Outlook Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on December 10 in Baylor University’s Hurd Welcome Center, located at 903 S. University Parks Drive. Perryman will provide insights on regional and national economic conditions, offering a forecast to assist the business community in its strategic planning. Tickets are priced at $75 for chamber members and $120 for nonmembers.
Highlander Ranch Horse Shows
McLennan Community College’s Highlander Ranch, at 223 Cobbs Lane, will host an open horse show from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on December 14, followed by a ranch horse show on December 15 at the same time. The open show will adhere to American Quarter Horse Association rules and feature events such as halter, showmanship, hunter under saddle, and more. The ranch show will follow the American Ranch Horse Association rules. Year-end high-point buckles will be awarded in each division. For additional information, call 254-299-8553.
A Dr Pepper Christmas
A Dr Pepper Christmas will occur from 4 to 7 p.m. on December 14 at the Dr Pepper Museum, located at 300 S. Fifth St. The event features a meet and greet with Santa, holiday Make-A-Soda and Taste-A-Soda experiences, and storytelling with representatives from the Waco-McLennan County Public Library. The event is free, with some ticketed experiences available.
Singing Seniors Concert
The Baylor Singing Seniors, led by Phillip Sitton, will present a concert titled “Contagious Praise/Everlasting Love” at 4 p.m. on December 15 at First Baptist Waco, located at 500 Webster Ave. The concert will showcase various musical styles and arrangements by several noted composers. While the concert is free, donations will be accepted.
Elm Avenue Cleanup
Keep Waco Beautiful is hosting a cleanup from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Elm Avenue and Bridge Street Plaza, starting from the plaza. Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes, dress for the weather, and bring water; safety vests will be provided. To sign up or for more details, visit their website.
Food Distribution
A free food distribution will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. on Friday at the Downtown Transit Terminal, located at 301 S. Eighth St. Recipients are required to bring an ID or driver’s license and are encouraged to bring a container to take the food.
Farm & Ranch Seminar
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will host the District 8 Farm & Ranch Seminar from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 12 at the McLennan Community College Emergency Services Education Center, situated at 7601 Steinbeck Bend Drive. Hewitt Tree Lighting
The city of Hewitt will hold its Christmas tree lighting ceremony from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Warren Park, located at 450 S. Old Temple Road. The event will feature vendors, food trucks, carols by Midway ISD choirs, and a visit from Santa Claus. Parking is free.
‘It’s a Wonderful Life’
The Waco Civic Theatre will present performances of “It’s a Wonderful Life” at 7:30 p.m. on December 5-15, with a matinee at 2:30 p.m. on December 15. Tickets are priced at $25 and can be purchased at the theater’s website. This musical adaptation is based on the classic 1946 film directed by Frank Capra.
