African American Film Series Returns to Flint Institute of Arts with Powerful Lineup
FLINT, MI – Communities First, Inc. (CFI), in partnership with the Flint Institute of Arts (FIA), is thrilled to announce the celebration of the African American Film Series, marking its milestone 10th season. This esteemed event is dedicated to showcasing the artistry and narratives of African American creatives.
All screenings are held at the Flint Institute of Arts, located at 1120 E. Kearsley St. in Flint. This free film series brings forth a captivating lineup of films aimed at inspiring, informing, and empowering audiences, while fostering a sense of community and cultural understanding.

The 2024-25 season kicked off in November and will continue with monthly screenings through February, featuring a lineup of films that delve into powerful themes and narratives.
Attendees are invited to arrive at 5:30 p.m. to explore FIA’s galleries and enjoy a complimentary dinner accompanied by live music, creating an enriching atmosphere before the evenings’ main events. The films are set to begin at 6:45 p.m., followed by engaging discussions led by experts, who will examine the themes and issues presented in each film.
