Hamburger Mary’s Jacksonville announces soft opening with shows, events at new location
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hamburger Mary’s Jacksonville is set to welcome back guests to its beloved restaurant and entertainment venue under new management and location this February.
In October 2023, the previous Hamburger Mary’s location on Beach Boulevard unfortunately had to close its doors after an electrical fire caused significant damage to the building. Due to this incident, the business was compelled to move to a different side of Jacksonville.
Through a recent post on social media, the restaurant, known for its commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive space for community members to unite for thrilling drag performances, delectable food, and camaraderie, announced that its soft opening will take place on February 14.
The new venue, now situated on Edgewood Avenue in Murray Hill, revealed that its soft launch will feature full shows, engaging events, and an emphasis on creating unforgettable experiences.
“The moment we have all been waiting for!!!” the social media post proclaimed. “Please take note- this is our soft opening. We will be open for business running all shows and events and focusing on all things that matter.”
The post also indicated that the official grand opening is scheduled for later in April.
Tickets for the soft opening weekend will go on sale next week, according to the announcement.
The reopening of Hamburger Mary’s Jacksonville comes amid shifting political landscapes, particularly concerning protections around diversity and LGBTQIA+ rights. Recent actions taken by the federal government have stirred discussions about the importance of supportive spaces for marginalized communities.
The new Hamburger Mary’s location vows to serve as a sanctuary for LGBTQIA+ individuals and their allies, providing much-needed support and a sense of community in light of the current sociopolitical climate.
