Husky MBB Adds Two Big Men, Brings 2025 Recruiting Class To Four – University of Washington Athletics
SEATTLE – The Washington Huskies men’s basketball team is excited to announce the addition of two talented big men, Mady Traore and Niko Bundalo, solidifying their 2025 recruiting class to four signees.
Mady Traore, a 6-11 athlete from Paris, France, will be joining the Huskies after a season at Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas. Traore started his collegiate journey at New Mexico State, then transferring to Maryland before landing at the junior college level. Head coach Sprinkle praised Traore, stating, “We believe he is the best junior college prospect in the country. His quickness and jumping ability will allow us to use him in multiple positions on offense and defense.” He highlighted Traore’s ball-handling skills and shooting ability, which will enhance the Huskies’ offensive strategies. With a remarkable average of 17.8 points per game and an impressive shooting percentage of 64.6% at Frank Phillips, Traore has proven his capability on the court. Additionally, his ability to rebound is noteworthy, as he recorded an average of 10.2 rebounds per game and 3.2 blocks, including an outstanding seven-block game against Ranger College.
Niko Bundalo comes to UW as a highly regarded high school prospect from Prolific Prep in Napa, California. A consensus four-star recruit, Bundalo chose Washington over a plethora of top-tier programs including North Carolina and Kentucky. Coach Sprinkle remarked on Bundalo’s versatility, stating, “His skill set for being 6-10 is unique. He is very long and is one of the best rebounders in the country.” Bundalo is known for his ability to shoot from three-point range, which will create mismatches for opposing teams. ESPN ranks him as the 25th player nationally and one of the top-10 forwards, making him one of the most notable recruits in the Huskies’ history, joining legends like Isaiah Stewart and Markelle Fultz.
In conjunction with fellow UW recruits JJ Mandaquit and Courtland Muldrew, the signing class has garnered attention, now ranked No. 10 nationally by On3 and leading the Big Ten. Mandaquit, hailing from Hilo, Hawaii, is viewed as the best true point guard in the 2025 class, showcasing elite playmaking skills and decision-making ability. His high-caliber performances led him to win a Gold Medal with Team USA at the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
Muldrew, a 6-3 shooting guard from Springdale, Arkansas, is also a consensus four-star recruit, known for his scoring ability at multiple levels. With offers from significant programs, Muldrew chose to join the Dawgs, bringing a strong athletic presence that will be vital in the competitive landscape of the Big Ten.
Coach Sprinkle emphasized Muldrew’s strengths, stating, “Courtland is a combo guard who can score in bunches and can score at all three levels.” His strong, athletic physique aligns well with the needs in the Big Ten, and his recent performances have validated his recruitment.
As the recruiting class grows stronger, the future looks promising for Husky basketball. This influx of talent adds depth and versatility to the team, setting high expectations for the upcoming seasons.
