Pantaleon Partners with Bright Yeti to Deploy Innovative Crop Technology

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 22, 2025 – Pantaleon, the leading sugarcane producer in Central America, has announced a partnership with Bright Yeti, a deep-tech agriculture company. Both organizations signed a Letter of Intent to implement Bright Yeti’s innovative crop technology and leverage its strategic expertise in Pantaleon’s sugarcane farming operations.

This collaboration marks a significant advancement in the utilization of cutting-edge technology within agricultural practices. Both companies plan to integrate this technology into Pantaleon’s operations across Latin America in 2025, aiming to enhance germination rates, growth, and harvest yields of sugarcane crops.

Pantaleon’s CFO, André Lacape, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “As one of the world’s foremost sugarcane producers, Pantaleon has thrived for over 175 years by embracing innovation and continuously enhancing our practices. Our collaboration with Bright Yeti will allow us to harness new technologies to optimize our operations and ensure sustainable, high-performance sugarcane production.”

Bright Yeti’s technology, developed by a team of experts from fields such as space habitation, medical devices, and biochemistry, introduces farmers to a new agricultural variable known as electrophysiology. This innovative, 100% chemical-free, and GMO-free methodology has already shown promise in improving yields for major crops in the United States, including corn and soybeans. The CEO and Founder of Bright Yeti, Jacob Cordova, shared, “Bright Yeti is thrilled to be at the forefront of transforming crop growth, not only on Earth but potentially in space as well. We are eager to assist Pantaleon in integrating our technology into their impressive operations.”

The sugarcane industry, valued at four billion dollars globally, showcases top producers located in South and Central America, Thailand, India, and the United States. The effective production of sugarcane significantly influences a variety of downstream products, such as refined sugar, molasses, renewable energy sources, and alcoholic beverages. In recent years, the industry has faced mounting challenges due to climate fluctuations and rising input costs. Partnerships like that between Pantaleon and Bright Yeti are pivotal in driving sustainable innovations, fostering regenerative agriculture, and promoting a resilient future.

Pantaleon is recognized as the 11th largest sugar agro-industrial organization in the world. With a history dating back to 1849 along Guatemala’s southern coast, Pantaleon focuses on the responsible cultivation and processing of sugarcane to produce and market sugar, molasses, ethanol, and biomass energy. The company operates in six countries, yielding 1.1 million tons of sugar annually and providing employment for over 21,200 individuals during the harvest season.
