Rescind Xi Jinping’s Invitation: Upholding American Values in the Face of Human Rights Abuses

World News | Uphold America’s Principles, Rescind Xi Jinping’s Invitation: ETGE | LatestLY

In Washington DC, the East Turkistan Government in Exile (ETGE) has issued a strong condemnation regarding the invitation extended to Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

While the ETGE acknowledged the Trump administration’s initial efforts in recognizing and condemning China’s human rights abuses in Occupied East Turkistan, they argue that the invitation contradicts America’s stance on these critical issues and may tarnish its moral credibility on the international platform.

The ETGE emphasized the severe human rights violations occurring in the region, which include mass internment, torture, forced labor, sterilization, and cultural destruction threatening the lives and identities of Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, and other Turkic peoples.

“Since 2014, millions of #Uyghurs, #Kazakhs, #Kyrgyz, and other Turkic peoples in Occupied East Turkistan have been subjected to mass internment, torture, enslavement through #ForcedLabor, sterilization, and cultural and physical annihilation,” the ETGE stated, reflecting on the horrific conditions faced by these oppressed groups.

The group maintains that under Xi Jinping’s leadership, these acts have escalated to a level comparable to genocide. They claim, “Under Xi Jinping’s leadership, the Chinese regime has escalated its campaign of colonization and genocide in East Turkistan into the worst atrocity since the Holocaust.” The ETGE also highlighted the broader implications of Xi’s leadership, asserting that his regime engages in unrestricted warfare against the United States, characterized by economic and military espionage, cyberattacks, and malign propaganda campaigns. Additionally, they criticized the trafficking of fentanyl, leading to widespread suffering in American communities, and referenced the impact of the coronavirus pandemic as detrimental to American lives.

The ETGE argued that inviting Xi Jinping to a ceremony celebrating American democracy, which the Chinese regime actively seeks to undermine, constitutes a betrayal of American principles and a disservice to those oppressed by China’s authoritarian rule.

“Inviting Xi Jinping to the inauguration of American democracy—a system he actively seeks to destroy—is an affront to America’s values and a betrayal of the oppressed suffering under China’s tyranny, as well as the American populace who have faced the ramifications of China’s unchecked aggression against the United States,” the organization emphasized.

Additionally, the ETGE drew parallels between this invitation and the historical appeasement of Adolf Hitler by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain before World War II, labeling it as a perilous gesture that could empower a dictator known for genocide.

“President Trump, history will judge this moment with unwavering clarity. Inviting Xi Jinping is not just a misstep—it mirrors Neville Chamberlain’s disastrous appeasement of Adolf Hitler, a decision that emboldened a genocidal tyrant and unleashed one of the darkest chapters in human history. The genocidal Chinese dictator Xi Jinping, no different from Hitler, does not belong at the celebration of freedom and democracy; he belongs in the dock of an international tribunal, answering for his genocide and crimes against humanity,” the statement read.

The ETGE urged President Trump to rescind the invitation, calling on him to maintain his administration’s legacy of advocating for freedom and holding the Chinese government accountable for its human rights violations.

“Honor your administration’s legacy of upholding American values and holding China accountable for its crimes. Stand firm with the oppressed people of East Turkistan, and demonstrate to the world that America will never honor genocidal dictators or compromise its principles. The values of freedom, justice, and humanity demand nothing less,” concluded the statement.
