Texas-Georgia, Red River top StubHub list of best-selling games left this season
Texas is currently the No. 1 college football team in the nation, as per the Associated Press top 25 football poll. Their impressive performance doesn’t just reflect in rankings; it is also mirrored in ticket sales, with three Texas games prominently featured among StubHub’s top four best-selling college football games for the remainder of the regular season.
At the forefront is the highly anticipated matchup between Texas and Georgia, scheduled for October 19. StubHub ranks these games based on the total dollar amount of tickets sold on their platform, making the significance of this contest even clearer.
“After joining the SEC this year, Texas has recorded its best-selling season in StubHub history, with ticket sales up five times at the beginning of the season compared to last year,” noted a StubHub spokesperson. “The excitement surrounding new SEC matchups, including the upcoming game against Georgia and the revived in-state rivalry with Texas A&M later this season, is driving significant demand for Longhorns tickets.”
The Texas vs. Georgia game will take place at Royal-Memorial Stadium, with kickoff slated for 6:30 p.m. Tickets for this much-anticipated game started at $366 on StubHub as of Friday afternoon.
Claiming the second position on the list is this weekend’s showdown between Texas and Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl. Set to kick off at 2:30 p.m. in Dallas, tickets for this game have a starting price of $333 on StubHub.
Another notable game ranked fourth is the November 30 clash between Texas and Texas A&M, marking the long-awaited return of this storied rivalry after more than a decade. Tickets for this face-off start at a steep $552 on StubHub, making it the most expensive starting ticket of the season for both teams.
Additionally, Texas’ home game against Florida on November 9, set for 11 a.m., is positioned as the sixth best-selling game for the remainder of the year.
Of the games included in StubHub’s ranking, six belong to the SEC conference, while four are from the Big Ten conference. The diversity in matchups showcases the competitive nature of collegiate football this season.
The Texas Longhorns, with four games appearing in the top 10, lead all teams in this ranking. Ohio State follows closely behind with three games. Their rivalry game against Michigan on November 30 is the only contest preventing Texas from dominating the top three best-selling games on the platform.
